Groupon - Burger Edge Combo Part 2

I have a 'one burger combo each month for a year' voucher from Groupon, as explained in me previous post about my previous visit. Since I've already posted about this place, I don't have anything to add, other than more complaints.

I went to the same store as last time (Melbourne Central) and I ordered Feel the Cheese again, with no salt and no pickles again.

The combo. Had Lemon and Lime this time instead of Pepsi Max.

Salted chips when I wanted them unsalted! I had two and topped eating. They were even saltier than last time. I was eating with a friend and she also commented that it was very salty.

This time, they even forgot about the pickles! Noticed them while I was eating and picked them out.

What I was left with. My friend ate the chips for me so that's why there's only a little left. Can't believe I have to keep going there every month. This was supposed to be a good deal, but I'm beginning to regret buying it. I'll see how things go next month.

The end.

Delivery Hero - Delhi Diner

Through OzBargain I find out about a $10 off Delivery Hero coupon code for new customers (still valid by the way, until September). I've ordered from Menulog and Eatnow before but never from Delivery Hero, and so with this coupon code, I decided to try it out. The other times I ordered delivery food I always had Italian (pizza and pasta) because the only other places available are Indian and my dad doesn't really like Indian. But we went to an Indian place a couple of months ago (using a voucher of course) and it was actually pretty nice. And since my dad's away right now, my mum and I decided to eat Indian.

There were about ten Indian places I could order from on Delivery Hero and from those I picked out the ones with $0-3 delivery fee and from those I looked at the price of the menus and decided on Delhi Diner in Epping. It was the only place with no delivery fee to my house and the dishes were also the cheapest compared to other places (although I can't properly compare price without comparing serving size). I knew absolutely nothing about this restaurant but decided to give it a go.

My order:

I realised straight after ordering that I forgot to go through Cash Rewards for the bonus 8% cashback. If anyone decides to order delivery food through Delivery Hero after reading this post, don't forget about Cash Rewards (also if ordering from Groupon, Livingsocial, Woolworths, Appliances Online etc).

I was given an estimated delivery time of 6:04pm but the delivery man was kinda late, more than twenty minutes I think. And I was starving! He just dropped off the plastic bag with the food then rushed off, to deliver more food I guess.

The plastic bag of food

The food laid out

The vegetarian tandoori platter, supposed to be three different vegetarian dishes combined but I don't know which is which. The thing that looks like a vegetarian patty (which might be the vegetable seekh) was apparently very salty (according to my mum that is, I didn't eat it because I'm not supposed to eat salty food). Also the roasted vegetables had lots of burnt edges but maybe that's just to do with the cooking method. Otherwise quite good. I haven't really eaten many varieties of cheese in my life but was pleasantly surprised by the cottage cheese. The most important thing, it's not salty! (My mum thought it was tofu when she first saw it, wouldn't believe me when I told her it was cheese)

Butter chicken on the left (apparently the most popular dishes at all Indian places), mutter paneer on the right. Both were very nice but I prefer the butter chicken. When I ordered the food I chose 'hot' for the butter chicken and 'medium' for the mutter paneer but they were about the same spiciness as each other and probably mild-to-medium. Could have been spicier.

Plain and garlic naan (there are bits of garlic stuck in the garlic naan but not much difference in taste, just more expensive). Just eating the naan made me almost full even before starting with the rice. Preferred what I ate last time at the other Indian place, which my bother said was naan but the menu said was roti. Maybe I'll try the roti next time since they have that too.

Overall, was satisfied with the food. My mum said it was much better than the Italian food we usually order, less oily. We both had too much to eat that night for dinner we both had the leftovers the next morning for breakfast and we have leftovers of those leftovers. Not bad for $30! Highly likely that I'll order from this place again since this place seems cheaper than all the other places.

Entertainment Book - Donut King BOGOF

I went shopping with my mum at the Uni Hill Factory Outlets today. After shopping I decided to buy the Donut King cinnamon donuts since I have an Entertainment Book voucher which allows me to get one free six-pack of donuts when another one is purchased. So that means I receive dozen donuts for $6.50 (I think that was what it cost). I thought they would be perfect for night snacks since I always eat something around 10-11 pm. Here is the screenshot:

The people working there seemed to have no clue about the deal so I had to explain it to them (even about tapping the redeem button). The girl who took the order took another girl to pack to donuts and that other girl seemed to be a newbie, still in training. I noticed when I received the box that the donuts weren't arranged neatly but couldn't really be bothered checking the contents on the spot. But maybe I should have... Because...

I only received eleven donuts!

I also noticed that the donuts were shaped very weirdly, oblongs rather than circles. Creates an interesting texture so the donut tastes slightly different depending on which part you're eating.

My verdict:
The taste is nothing special, just like any other cinnamon donut. And I'm annoyed that I didn't get my money's worth.
